Whats the best bait for catfish?

im goin fishin and want to know what kind of bait to go buy!!!!!

lots of angler thinks that the cat is a scavenger but the truth they do hunt but scavenging is much easier to sustain their diet.so if u want big blue then u need to use livebaits,try jugging.

worms and nightcrawlers they are by far the best you can catch almost anything on them. and they are not that much money  by far my favorite. Channel catfish is what i catch and i always get a decent or big sized on they are awesome to catch have fun going.

For channel cat, dip baits are good this time of the year.  Sonny's is a good one; Hosses Hawg Bait is good, too.  For blues and flatheads you want cut bait or live bait.  Big minnows (suckers or shiners, 4" at least) are always good.  I like to catch some bluegill or bream that are at least 2"-3" long, clip off the corners of their tail fin, and hook them under the dorsal fin.  Them cast them out and let them swim.  And get ready.

Well, catfish are nocturnal bottom feeders. The stinkier the bait the better. I have had a lot of luck recently on Catfish Dip Bait using the Catfish Dip Worms (just be sure to change the leader that comes with it though, unless you want to lose your fish) fished on the bottom after dark.

Catfish also love chicken livers (use pieces of pantyhose or wrap sewing thread around it to keep in on the treble hook), as well as nightcrawlers, large minnows, and crawdads (crayfish). Cut baits work well too, as well as some dough baits.

Hotdogs, chicken liver, spam, anything that stinks as tthat's what the catfish go for, if you can leave your chicken liver in the sun for a day and you will have a great bait.
