  1. Your best bet for bait selection, regardless of the area, is to check with the locals. Each fish will generally have its own seasons that it migrates through certain areas, usually chasing a certain baitfish, which is what you need to research and get, locally.   There are also generally some native fish around that are always there, which can usually be caught on seaworms, but again, it's always best to check with the guys out there fishing, you'd be amazed at what you can learn about a new area from one night of hanging around talking to the people that have been fishing there for 20-30 years.

  2. Fluke - clam or squid mixed with a minnow.

Blue - Squid and minnow, Bunker (the best),

overall squid should get you just about anything!

i would get a little of each and just mix around.  you could put a spreader out with different viarities of bait and see which one gets a hit.

    have fun with it!

  3. What sea? the Baltic, The mediterranian, the Salton?

Can you at least be a little more cognicent of the effort and understanding put forth? this question reads like a text message

  4. there r lots of bait stealer out there so u should start with the worms first cos its pretty hard to steal something like the worm from the hook.these fish will bite so lightly that u wont able to feel the bite then they will suck the bait out from your hook, these r really small fish like less than 4inches.

  5. That's readily available.  Shrimp and squid rarely disappoint.

  6. Depends on what you want to catch; shrimp is a good all-around bait for inshore fishing as is squid and live mud minnows or finger mullet.  Sounds, though, you may want to start with shrimp and see how you do.

  7. In general, the best bait is live bait. As there are hundreds or more types of fish caught in the ocean, ranging from a few ounces to several hundred pounds in size, you can't get much more specific. But live bait of whatever type the fish in your area are feeding on will outdo dead or cut bait any day.

The most common live bait is live fish (anchovies, sardines, or mackerel, for the most part, off California, different species in the Atlantic or elsewhere). Live squid can be great bait when you can get it, surf fishermen like sand crabs, and on the east coast people talk about using live shrimp (I've never used it, as I've never fished back east).
