Whats the best beach near Dublin Ireland to take a walk?

Take the DART (train) out to Bray, Co Wicklow. Theres a mile long promenade there, its a nice walk.

The train tracks run right alongside the coast at times giving you a stunning view of the bay and Bray Head and surrounding mountains in the distance.

The beach on Bull Island is good. Watch out for the seals though, they like to go up on the sand and sun themselves if the weather is good.

You could also take the DART to Dun Laoghaire and walk down the pier, the views of Dublin Bay are stunning.

portmarnach or sandymount dollymount filthy beach with boy racers in one section donabate very nice too sites below should help also site of the not so nice beaches also

get the Dart out to Bray. beautiful beach. well was the last time I was there. you can also walk the mountain trail which is stunning  and have a walk on Killiney beach on your way.

If you want to actually walk on the beach Bray is no good to you as it is a stony beach and quite difficult to take a walk on.

The nearest beach to the city which is really nice is Portmarnock on the north side, a fabulous long beach with high sand dunes, accessible by bus.  If you want to dart get the dart to sutton not portmarnock (the train station here is a couple of miles from the beach) and the 102 feeder bus from sutton station to portmarnock.  

I dont recommend Dollymount, its not the cleanest although the area behind the beach is nice.

Southside the nearest is Sandymount strand but this is very flat so your best bet is Portmarnock.

: ) Bettystown beach isn't really near Dublin!!! It's Meath!

Donabate, Skerries and Rush have nice small sandy beaches, Malahide is nice for walking around the estuary, there's Dollymount Strand (probably closest to the city centre) and Sandymount.
