My family is planning this reunion and i got stuck with planning games. Ages 9 and up are the ones that mostly need to be entertained. I'm trying to get it so we can have a tournament going throughout the weekend. Any help would be great!

  1. I like the old trivia pursuits. My favorite is the disney version. They have adult and kid cards, to make it hard or easy

  2. Cranium- its trivia, pictionary, and charades all in one. It's a great game and lots of fun.

  3. Life

    Guesstures

    Taboo

    Clue

SceneIt (if access to a TV and DVD player)

    Scattergories (my favorite)

and any game that is a bit too much for the younger ones, you can play in pairs or teams and let an older, more experienced player be teamed w/ a young person.

  4. For something a little different try Carcassonne, Tsuro or Ticket to Ride.  All great for kids.

Also, you can look up a game called Spoons that can be played with a regular deck of cards or two and some spoons (or other common items). It's a blast and kids love it.

For more information about boardgames of all kinds, check out www.boardgamegeek.com. It's a FANTASTIC resource.

  5. Dungeons and Dragons, lad! It is the best board game around! All you need, is read its rulebooks, download and print character sheets for everyone who'll play, choose a Dungeon Master who will create the story, buy many-sided dices like D20, D8, D12 and a lot (believe me a lot) of fantasy. Although, if you need something quick and fast, you could try MONOPOLY and UNO.

  6. monopoly or game of life

  7. Chess is the best board game for people of all ages....

  8. Pictionary.   Yahtzee.  Monopoly.

  9. monopoly is the best or everybody could play checkers

  10. Sequence can be played by anybody about 8 and up, yet it's challenging enough for adults. You can learn to play it in under 5 minutes, maybe even as little as two.

Pictionary is another one that doesn't discriminate based on age--our kids trounce the adults regularly.

Other suggestions are Clue, Amazing Labyrinth, and Scotland Yard.

    NOT Monopoly. Ugh.

  11. For 9 and up Settlers of Catan,, any of the ticket to ride series and a favorite of mine nowadays Kingsbirg.

Usually are the ones that get the best result when I play with my non-gamers friends..

  12. Some good games are monopoly, backgammon, crib, scrabble

  13. Cluzzle or Wits and Wagers
