My friend and i are going to spar each other with gloves and whatnot, and i feel it will escalate into alot of training to beat each other. i want to prevent losing my teeth or having my jaw broken. whats the best mouth guard on the market that provides the best protection, breathing and comfort? i wouldn't mind paying a few bucks for it, if its worth it, maybe $20 or so. maybe a cheaper one is better, i dont know.

  1. the best are the ones dentists do from a proper mould they are a lot more than $20. Any of the cheaper types are okay as long as they do not hurt your gums and you can get them out of your mouth easily enough.

Only thing wrong with the dental ones by the way is some of them are made way too high, so they envelope the whole upper gum and are too snug. you almost have to dig them out with a pencil to get them off. This is no good for boxing since if you get Ko'd etc. you want people to be able to get the guard out easy.

    |BTW A mouthgaurd is not there to help with stopping your teeth get knocked out or to protect the jaw etc. once you are learning to hit hard the mouthguard makes no difference in that regard.

It is there mainly to stop the bottom and top row of teeth clashing together and chipping each other when you get hit.

Since both hard surfaces coming together can wreck the teeth pretty quickly.

That is why the double guards(top and bottom) are a bit of a gimmick. You only need one surface of plastic protecting between the teeth. just get a cheap upper that feels okay and does not hurt you

  2. the best one is one that your dentist makes as a custom fit for your mouth. mine cost me $200

other than than that you can check out ringside.com and talk to their customer service to ask them for help

  3. i feel very good with the shockdoctor pro double. you got to be hit with brass knuckles to have your teeth knocked out and your jaw broken with that mouthguard.
