  1. try tyrell's.... family owned for 150 years. try 4 acres shiraz (grapes are from vines over 130 years old), db24 (grapes sourced from mc claren vale wine spends 24 months in oak, 12 months in 1 barrel and transfered to a fresh barrel for the remaining 12 months to get full flavour of both) or vat 9 shiraz ( great cellaring!) or if your after a white try vat 1 semillion 1998.

  2. there are so many fantastic brands

i like margaret river vineyards, they don't tend to have the huge volume as some others, but they produce great quality

  3. Brown Brothers, they have a better taste for those of us that are not connoisseurs, try the moscato it is to die for. Not sure on the investing part though are you talking about shares or buying and storing the wine?

  4. If you are thinking of investing in Aussie wines Penfolds are probably the best choice.

  5. "Best" is a matter of personal taste.

But if you want to invest... Grange Hermitage is probably your best bet.

  6. that is like asking "what is the best brand of wine in the U.S."      You are talking about a whole country, dude.

  7. Australia is now the second leading wine exporter to the USA, behind Italy. The country has many, many fine wineries.

    Among the top are:

    Howard Park

    Leeuwin Estate

    Penfolds

    Hardys

    Rosemont Estate

    Rothbury Estate

    Evans and Tate

Penfolds would be my choice as far as investing, But consider the growth potential of Austrailia's industry and just about any of their top

    wine estates should be successful.
