  1. I recommend the Panasonic SDR-H40, Great camera, Great price, amd it can record anywhere from 9 to 36 hours of footage (depending on quality) on its 40 GB hard drive.

    The manual says you HAVE to install the included software, but don't. Just hook up the USB cable to it and drag the video clips from the folder onto your desktop (or wherever).
