Whats the best colour chalk for snooker,blue or green,is there actually a difference?

ive always prefered green but i'd like to know if there is a difference in cue tip performance, thanks for your views.

  1. There is no difference.. Green chalk won't discolour the baize of a snooker table though since it is the same colour.


  2. i prefer to use green. its unique and cool. the disadvantage of using the blue chalk is that your cue ball is gonna have patches of blue stains.

  3. blue is hardly used anymore because it sticks to the cue ball.everybody more or less uses green now.

  4. Jake Donahue is pretty much right.  There is no difference in chalk performance from color to color produced by the same company. They are made so that your table doesn't look like a complete mess after playing.  You will also find maroon chalk for this reason.  However, the company that produces the chalk will make a difference, and not all companies produce all colors.
