  1. As medium dave as mentioned computer active is excellent and everything is in layman and plain english terms it helped myself way back in feb 98 when it arrived .

It does exactly what it says on the tin to coin a phrase lol.

    Best wishes :)***

  2. just go on sites, there be plenty more info on the web and it doesn't cost a thing (apart from paying for the internet and stuff)

Search on google maybe like ''How to use a computer'' iunno depends on what your searching for cos the mags wont have alllllllll the info in it so best bets to search online

  3. Theres loads about.  check out the computer category at http://www.magazinesubscription.co.uk/ca...

    My favourite is computer active.

  4. Computer Active is good - and if you subscribe, I think you get access to the back-issues, on their website

EDIT: and CA does, indeed, help you get the best out of what you have, with various tutorials, tips, et cetera.

I don't buy it myself, as I already have an MSc in Computer Science, various industry qualifications, and so forth - but my father gets it, and I have a leaf through occasionally.

  5. There isn't one.

All computer magazines are designed to get you (and other users) to buy bigger faster better whizzier computers. Over 50% of their content is adverts. They only review the newest stuff. They do nothing to help you get the best out of what you have.

Hit the library for a book.
