Hi, I am from Northern Ireland currently reside in Belfast. Anyway I am married to an American and also have a son who was born an American citizen, I lived in Alexandria VA for 5 years and filed all my paperwork after I got married there. Basically what happened was after filing all the forms I got a work permit and everything was good. One day after waiting for ages on word back on my greencard interview(final stage) I called immigration up and was told my case had been denied due to apparently not turning up for interview. They told me all I could do was file a motion which I did and then eventually just went home as it was taking too long and I wanted to stay in good standing. So, my wife and child are over in Chicago at the minute and I am considering going to try again and get a lawyer ect or worst case scenario have them come to live here. I would prefer to live there though so if anyone knows the best way for me start this up again I would very much appreciate it,

sorry for the long post

  1. You being married to her and having her kid I think you have every legal right to be over here and they cant make you leave until you divorce her

  2. Have your wife contact USCIS and file to sponsor you as her spouse again. This time keep all appointments and have patience.
