Im currently a born and legal Canadian Resident living in Canada. I am interested in going to school in Las Vegas, NV for gaming management at UNLV. I would be interested after this degree of seeking employment at MGM-Mirage or Harrahs etc in the hopes of applying my degree there. What might my options be for Visa's to come to the US? Also are there any visa's that allow me to come, yet allow me to work a job to help pay for my living expenses?

Thanks for any help!

  1. If you are sincerely interested in coming to the US and are interested in the American dream, then apply for citizenship and be welcomed.  If you just want to come here for the money  and education but have no desire to become an American, then please just stay in Canada.

  2. you have 2 easy options

1 go in Iraq and fight for this country

2 get marry with a fat and ugly American woman

  3. To attend UNLV, if you are accepted, you must apply for a student visa from your country of citizenship.  You cannot apply from Canada unless you are a Canadian citizen.

Student visas are issued on the condition that you will return to your home country immediately upon completion or termination of studies.  You must wait at least 2 years before you can apply for any visa to re-enter the US.

Student visa also forbid working.  To qualify for a student visa, you must prove you have sufficient funds to pay all of your school expenses, plus all of your living expenses, plus transportation home.

You are expressly forbidden to change status from student to any sort of employment visa or immigration-class visa.  Besides, an H1-b visa requires a university degree plus a minimum of 2 years work experience beyond the degree, so new grads do not qualify for such employment visas.

Your plan is full of holes.  No money for school, and you cannot stay to work.

Gaming management jobs?  People are being laid off left and right as things go sour.  The people being laid off in Atlantic City are heading for Vegas, and those laid of in Vegas are trying Atlantic City, indian reservation casinos, etc.  We have a glut of people in this field, so this not a great career option at present anyway.

  4. First F1, then switch it to H1b, J, E or other work visas.
