Whats the best/fastest way to train for 2 miles in under sixteen minutes?

  1. When I started XC I ran 14 minutes my first meet (I finally got down to 11 minutes). All I did was run, run, run. I started running 2 weeks before XC started (big mistake). If I had ran all summer, I would've kicked butt because most of the kids aren't in shape. All you need to do is run more than 2 miles every day. Run like 4, but take your time doing it. Then, all you have to work on is speed. Plus, it'll feel a lot easier doing 2 miles, after you usually run 4. Hope I helped.  :]

  3. 2 miles under 16 minutes is nothing thats worse then a 7 min mile u can do it right now get out there

  4. I required my linemen to run 2 miles under 16 minutes by start of season. We did it in 6 weeks. 2 weeks we ran 1 mile 4 days a week. Next 2 weeks we ran 1 1/2 miles 4 days a week. Finally we  ran 2 miles a day 4 days a week. By the end, all but a very few could do the two miles under 16 minutes.
