Whats the best first car?

in getting my first car in a few months. please help me figure which is reliable and safe and wont eat my wallet with insurance gas and maintenance ...

I own a Audi A4.

Stay away from it.  It is a very nice car.  BUT it is very expensive to maintain.

I would not buy another audi.

the Audi would be the best one,my cousin has one and she loves it,it was her first car also,and since then that's all she will drive,i have to agree that they are a terrific car to own and drive,if you ever drive one that will be the one you probably choose,their built to last,good luck.

No other options to choose from? Acura's tend to be junk, and as someone already said Audi's aren't cheap, guess I'd have to go with the Scion.

First time drivers usually have much higher rates than others. And it depends from car.

When I was in your position any car that ran was my choice. However if I was to answer that question for my daughter I would probably say That most Toyota's would most likely fit that bill. Also some Honda's. However they will be alittle more expensive than your Ford, Chevey's  etc. but they are probably worth it. As with all used cars there are exceptions in every model depending how it was taken care of. Just plan on having to stick some money into it to make sure it is safe. Take it to a trusted mechanic to be looked at. Do not take any body's word that this is a good safe car. Get it checked first before you buy it !!!!!! It will be worth the cost to check it out. If the person selling it is honest (including dealers) they will not mind you getting it checked out by a person of your choice. Also check with your insurance company before you buy it and they will tell you your price to insure it ,they will also tell you what will cost you more money to insure. When you find the care you like look it up on the internet and see how people rated that car for evrything you want to know about. So check before you buy and you will make a good choice and you will be happy in the long run.
