Whats the best football game you have ever seen ?

Mine would be the State of Origin game in 1983 WA against Victoria it was the first time I saw VFL players live and WA won by 3pts with a minute to go..

It can be any game from your kids weekend footy match or those played at the highest level.

I take it you mean live? I saw cats v Tigers at Telstra Dome in 2003, Cats won by 3 points with a Chapman goal in the last few seconds. Wrong result for me, but the crowd were going off, Dont know if you`ve been to the Dome but it has a great atmosphere.

Best one I`ve seen lately on tv was Pies v WCE, the final this year. Great game. wrong result for you though mate....=0)

All the earlier Rugby League State of Origin games between NSW & QLD, particularly the Mighty Blues bus driving past Caxton St and being pelted with full beer cans, you know that XXXX rubbish that taste like creek water. The Blues were always the Greatest !

03 Grand Final, Back to Back to Back. The best bit was we beat Collingwood for the second time in a row in a Grand Final

Last year's Soccer worldcup. The Aussie team were amazing. I had never watched soccer before but was getting up in the early hours of the morning, putting on my green and gold and having a few drinks!

Oh that's tough Molly and I think in the end you won't like my answer.

The 05?? GF that Sydney won has to be up there even if the wrong team won.

One I played in years ago where we won 546 to 1 was the weirdest I've seen.  I conceded the rushed behind and copped heaps for that.

The most I've ever been on the edge of my seat was this years prelim against the Wobbles.  I cried my eyes out from sheer relief at the end of that.  I thought we woz goners!

But I'll stick with the Sydney win.

Oh going with the broader definition of football ... the Australia - Italy diving competition in the quarters of the Soccer World Cup.  What a shame it had to end like that.

The 1989 NRL (Then NSWRL) Grand Final.  Chicka scores, Mal converts, it goes for extra time and the mighty Canberra Raiders claim their first premiership.  The dynasty begins.

The 2004 Super 12 Rugby Final.  The ACT Brumbies make a meal out of the Sharks, to claim their second title.  And I was there.

1993 North Canberra touch footy final, winter season.  University of Canberra Otters, we won and I played and scored.  Then I celebrated, by going home to study for an exam.

Collingwood-Geelong at Telstra Dome in 2001. I got to speak at a Geelong membership pre-match luncheon then witnessed the Cats get over the Pies. I was crying at the final siren.

Here in America, a high school playoff (finals) second round game in 1977 played in Ashland, Kansas. My school, Pretty Prairie, defeated Ashland 28-21. Ashland had whipped us the year before, 42-0 in the playoffs and we got even. Ashland had won 29 in a row before this game. During the game it was 7-7, 14-14, 21-21 and we got a touchdown on a long pass play with four minutes to go, kicked the extra point and won the thing. Our star running back scored 3 touchdowns, ran for over 240 yards, but missed a field goal he tried in the first term.

Collingwood vs WCE in the quarter-finals this year - it was the most nail biting, heart stopping match I've ever seen!  First time i've seen a draw and time-on...and my boys won :))

st kilda v port adelaide in the 2004 prelim, it was close for the whole match and the intensity didn't stop for a second. One of those games where it seemed like everybody was playing at their best.

Also of course the swans win in 2005 in the GF but I was too nervous to sit back and enjoy it.

Qld Vs NSW Rugby League State of Origin 2007 All three matches were fantastic.Qld won the series. It was really full on football at its best.

This is a difficult one to answer as there have been so many great games in my 30+ years of watching Football.

My first GF that I saw with Hawthorn in it 1983 GF and it was a win for the Hawkers too.

1988, 1989, and the 1991 GF all for different reasons but was able to be at all of them and left a happy boy.
