Putters, more than any other club, come down to personal preference and feel. You cannot tell if a putter will be right for you until you've hit some balls with it. find something you like the look of, and try it. If it doesnt feel good, then on to the next. Sometimes finding the right putter is lots of trial and error. Some things in life you just have to work at. If your basics are off, it wont matter whether you have the latest top of the range stick, or something from the bargain bucket. Picking an Odyssey (for example) is not just going to make you miles better overnight.

I am really happy with a cheap Maxfli putter I picked up a year ago, my putting is fairly consistent. A friend of mine uses a custom putter from the 70's which is probably the only one left in existence. My brother has switched putters 4 times in a year and theres little difference in his putting between his cheapo Dunlop and expensive Bettinardi.

Putters are so varied and styles are so different, it's hard to say what is best for you.  I agree that Odessy is a class putter at a fair price.  But remember, Ben Crenshaw (normally considered the best putter to ever play the game by most people or at least in the top five) bought the putter he played with for most of his career, out of a barrel of clubs at a course for $5 bucks.  So.....try a bunch.  I own at least 10.

Go to eBay and look for a Scotty Cameron putter. You'll get it cheaper if you get a used one. I got a used SC for about $170.

Depends on what style you like because they come in a wide variety of styles. Also some give a more soft feel while others a harder feel when the ball is stroked. But, from my opinion...brand wise I would recommend any kind of Odyssey putter. Second best would be the Scotty McCamerron's made by Titelist, but those are around $300-$600. Good Luck!

practice range and a pro shop take ten golf balls about 10ft. from the cup and take a putter and how many you get in the cup and tried different style,some are face balance and some have lady had different angles some of what is it lay at different angles fit your swing .keep trying from 10ft. in the one you get the most golf balls in the cup you'll have the most confidence in

The best putter is the one you can sink the most putts with.

The putter is the only club you shouldn't skimp on price. it's the one you'll use every round and every hole (unless you chip in). I've gone entire rounds without using my driver so i refuse to pay for a $400+ driver. Sometimes even a few irons go unused but i ALWAYS use my putter so it should be the club i'm most comfortable with.

In my opinion all putters are the same.  It's personal preference.  I think the only thing to look for is weight and face type.  Do you want a heavy putter that you don't have to put a lot of effort into, or do you want a lighter putter that can offer you more control.  Also  face type, metal gives you the most striking power but less control.  Rubber gives you the most control but that rubber sucks up some power from your swing.  The middle road is anything plasticy.  I just bought my best man an odyssey, and after using it from personal experiance, that $150 putter shoots as well as my $30 Plain ol Wilson putter...just like anything its personal preference and don't let marketing fool you, cheaper price doesn;t always mean cheaper value.

Odyssey White Steel Two Ball Putter, Odyssey White Hot XG, Or Titleist Scotty Cameron. If you had to choose one I would say choose the Odyssey Two Ball. Look up Rife putters also on the Internet those have great feel and roll.
