I'm about to buy a HDTV and I want to use the media centre PC that I already own. But it doesn't have any multimedia outputs (RCA, component, HDMI) and I would rather not use DVI or VGA, I would really prefer to use HDMI.

  1. DVI is the same video signal as HDMI, it just lacks the audio in the same wire.

  2. NVIDIA® GeForce® Series 7 and 8 (8600 for example) suppurt FullHD, and have HDCP and DVI.  DVI = HDMI Video only - you can plug DVI output into HDMI input with a simple DVI to HDMI adopter or DVI to HDMI cable.

  3. ATI is sellin graphiv cards with HD

  4. I know that the 8800 GT is a great card and I use it to game on my Plasma often.....but it does not have HDMI outputs, It has component outputs.

I think there are some cards that have HDMI output but I'm not sure if the price of them would be worth it...

  5. MSI NX8600GTS Diamond Plus GeForce 8600GTS is the best on the market now with the HDMI connector. I think XFX is working on an 8800 model but it's not out yet.
