Whats the best macro lens for the D60?

... i want to know what is the best affordable macro lens that will work on D60 cause if I'm not mistaken not all nikon lenses will work on D60.. i like to shoot like droplets of water...insetcs...ect. anyways if anyone can help me please... thanks in advance

  1. so long as the nikon lens is af-s or IF it will work with the d60. the lens must have internal focusing capabilities. i would recommend the  Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AFS Micro-Nikkor lens. it is going for $489.95 at www.onecall.com

    There ARE other brand's of lenses you may want to look at too.. Sigma, Tamaron, Vivitar and some camera stores have what is called their "house brand" that can be quite good and save a lot of $$...

    With digital still not having the resolution as film, one does not necessarily need to buy the top end lens. You will not get what the lens offers so why pay for it..? However, if you plan on getting better and better digital bodies (Nikon or Fuji) why buy a lens twice, if you get what I mean.

    Nikon has a few different Macros. One of the good ones is the 60mm f/2.8. but at this link you will find all Nikon lenses....
