I know it varies due to weather and other variables but what is a good month to go surfing down in Florida? Probably, Destin. I'm planning a trip. THANKS!

  1. Surf in the gulf aint that great. You would want to go over to the east coast like Cocoa Beach or Sebastian Inlet. But if you are planing surf trip in gulf you gotta plan your vacation around the surf reports from either

    Gulfster.com

    or

    Aurasurf.com

we dont get waves that often but we do on occasions get some really nice swells. Venice is good if you go to either south or north jetti over by crows nest depending on the winds and stuff.

  2. If you are planning a surf trip, then don't go to Destin.  The only time the gulf gets good swell is when a TS is rolling through.  You are better off heading to the Atlantic side of Florida.  Way more consistent breaks.

  3. I have surfed Pennsacola and Destin this time of year.  The water is cold so wear your full suit, gloves and boots but you can often find a wave.  Check Fluid Surf Shop  on the web (http://www.fluidsurfshop.com/) as the guys who work there post the local forcast.

  4. Gulf Coast pretty much means no surf except during tropical activity.  Check out the website for Cory Lopez's surf shop it may have some useful info.

  5. Usually the winter months

  6. There's never any real surfing anytime I go over to Destin. I'm from Panama City Beach and it's hysterical to watch these guys come in from out of town and try and surf. The waves are rediculously small and about the only thing that's good here is skimboarding... if even that.
