Whats the best part of town in san antonio to buy a house??

we are looking to buy a house there and we want a nice side of town where there are schools and parks and places to shop. not in the middle of know where. thanks!

Some of the nicer neighborhoods are:

Alamo Heights

Terrell Hills

Stone Oak

Shavano Park

Hollywood Park

Castle Hills

Lincoln Heights

Alamo Heights/ Lincoln Heights/ Terrell Hills is a more established area.  I lived in Lincoln Heights for a year and LOVED it.

The Stone Oak/ Hollywood Park area is whats really booming in SA right now- the new "in" place to live.

It would depend on what you are looking for and what your price range is.  A lot of people are buying on the north side around 281 and 1604 intersection.  There is much development there but the traffic is bad.  Pretty much everywhere around 1604 and the north and northwest sides of town are developing pretty fast with shopping. San Antonio does not have enough park space.  Closer to downtown there is the Castle Hills area that has good shopping and Brackenridge Park close by without the traffic congestion.  Also you might look at Alamo Heights and Olmos Park.  These are nice older areas of town with parks nearby.  Hollywood Park is also a nice area I like.
