I think the best place to take a first date is a nice coffee shop.  That way you can sit and talk.  Plus, if you don't totally click with the person then you haven't wasted a ton of money on a fancy restaurant. . . maybe I'm too cheap!

My fave is the beach. You can have a picnic, talk, play in the water, etc. Plus, you get to see what they look like in their bathing suit. Also, if you don't like them, you can just pretend like you fell asleep while sunbathing.  :-)

You could meet at a restaurant/bar. It'd be neutral territory. Or, if you like the outdoors you could go to the zoo.

Movies aren't good for the first date. You need to find something to do where you can talk, get to know each other.

The first date should be just the two of you, don't go out with a group of people.

A quite restuarant would be good. Afterward find a park or go for a walk.
