Whats the best place to live in Australia?

I'm thinking about getting a place in Australia. Which city is the most reasonable with housing and always has stuff going on. Pics are always welcome!!

Depends what you want and what you can afford. I agree with the previous poster that housing is very expensive and unless you are willing to live in a small country town you can expect to pay minimum $250,000 and that would be an extremely lucky find. I can't comment on city living as I am not a city person but my friends tell me that BrisVegas( nickname for Brisbane) rocks. There is an old saying, " Don't let your heart rule your mind", as buying a house is a huge investment get as many facts and figures as you can before making a decision and don't be swayed by friends or other "well meaning" people.

Housing has become extremely expensive, especially in the main cities (Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney), unless you can buy a house without a mortage you will have heavty repayments, especially with the high interest rates at present.

A very basic house in these centers is in excess of $400,000 AU

Most of the cities have "something going on"

Adelaide might be a good option, there is potential there at the moment, and its a nice area

I fly back and forth every day from sydney to LA waiting for my plane to crash on a specific island. I should make a tv show about that.

No, seriously I have only been to Sydney, but it was incredible. The people were cool, the surf was great, and the Ausies knew how to party. They made a group of Texas rednecks feel welcome. I can't wait to get back there.
