Whats the best place you have ever benn to in maine?

dont answer if you havent been but im actually wondering if anyone heard of oakfield maine.

I lived in Maine until I was 38. There are LOTS of fun things to do there. I grew up in the country on the Saco River. Rafting is fun there and also there are many quiet places to spend time. Portland is my favorite...I lived there for 20 years....lots of culture and things to do. Oakfield is in 'The County'....northern Maine...VERY rural. Plenty to do there IE festivals, shops, fairs, country kinda stuff. I travel to Maine every fall to see the foliage, visit friends, and attend the Fryeburg Fair (western Maine, near Mt. Washington in NH).

The BEST place to visit in ME (especially if you haven't been) is probably the Bar Harbor area....great seafood, attractions, shops, and scenic views (especially from a car). There are lots of websites that will help you decide for sure.

I bet Oakfield is beautiful in the fall. I suspect their foliage turns quicker than the rest of the state.

I've been in Augusta --stayed at The Senator, ate at a nice Thai restaurant on the river. Also was in Portland, which I REALLY liked, prolly because I'm from San Fran and Portland looks like what SF prolly looked like 100 years ago...funky but cool. Great seafood, ayeh, "down East."

Yes, I have heard of Oakfield......I love Camden, Searsport, and bar harbor.All are near the Ocean...Those are the best places in maine.

we go to wells beach, maine.....beautiful....never been to oakfield though....most of main is nice

The only place I've been to in Maine is Bangor. That makes it the best place!

Actually, all I did was go through customs and wait to continue our flight back to Los Angeles.

I think I had a pastry while waiting and also peed.
