i have limewire thought but it sometimes doesnt show the songs i want so i wanted to know if theres another program i can use i tried using ares but it wont connect with my computer

the other answers (limewire etc) all require you to break the law and steal music without the the artists getting any money.

Granted, Itunes is expensive (99 cents/song is too much for me as well).  So, one option that is LEGAL and CHEAP  is Emusic.     The selection is not huge, but if your into indie rock there is tonnes here as Merge Records (Arcade Fire, Superchunk, Lambchop) Matador Records (Cat Power, Pavement, Interpol) are here.    At at $10 for 30 songs that's like $3/album.    I have found it a great place to discover new music.  Santagold and Thao are recent ace discoveries here.
