Whats the best software to create catalog page layouts??

Im currently putting together a small catalog together to promote my jewellery line, i need some software to help with the layouts?? Any suggestions. :)

It is between Adobe In Design and Quark Express. Which one of these to use is purely a matter of preference. There is a learning curve with both products.

Do not listen to person who says Photoshop. It is a good tool but not for page layout. He clearly does not know what he is talking about. Top Contributor my ****!!!!

Adobe InDesign, you can download a 30 day trial at their website.

I swear by it. but it may be hard to learn from just starting. I learned it in my computer graphics class, so I had help.

I am a professional designer, and have been for 10 years. I prefer Quark Xpress to Adobe Indesign. I feel like it is a little more intuitive and user friendly.

InDesign is the best page layout application on the market.  I even prefer it over the more expensive QuarkXPress.  It's "Master page" and "style sheets" make great shortcuts for multipage publications.  It also has a handy "library" to hold graphics and editing text is a breeze.

Understand, this is an application designers use to CREATE their own layouts.  If you are looking for some software that has ready made layouts, then InDesign is not for you, and I can't help you.
