Whats the best species of parrot for a pet

hi, i am a first time bird owner. what is the best parrot to get as a begginner, and info about them, if you think its really that bad for a begginer to get a parrot then say so please.

i would get a green cheek conure.

pros- can mimic sounds and can say words and learn tricks

have cute personalitys

not to hard to clean up after

cons-sometimes noisy (squaking) at night

personally I like the african grey parrot. But since your a first timer go with a parakeet (bugie) and see how well your doing with that. (they are great pets!)

sun conure are pretty kool or the amazon parrots are pretty kool too.

I'd have to say that I would have to recommend a Quaker Parrot as your first, they are very lovable, loyal and have great temperament, as well as their own great personalities.  Also there is much information available on the Internet about Quaker Parrots or Monk Parakeets, as they are commonly called.

I have a Solomon Island Eclectus. I got him when I was 14 so I'm sure you can handle having one. They can learn to talk and they are very funny birds. They also bond with their owner and are very loyal. My bird tries to follow me when I leave the room. You can go to the website avesint.com and they have a chart on what parrot would be best for you. A cockatiel

They are small, inexpensive (compared to other birds) and have very agreeable temperments.  They are very friendly and you can teach them to talk (although not as clear as an african grey) and they are wonderful whistlers.  

If this is your first bird, i cannot think of a better choice.  They are cute, the cages are smaller (therefore less expensive than large parrot cages)  Cockatiels do skwak but nothing like a large parrot is capable of.
