Question:

Whats the best strong and light hockey stick?

I am a AAA hockey player and I have tried both Nike-Bauer and Easton Sticks, and both of them seem to break very quickly. Usually its the blade, not the shaft. I like both of the sticks and I want something that is light too. My Parents are in a financial bind so I don't need a Bauer XXXX stick. I would be fine with a XXV or a lower model stick. Any suggestions are welcome.

  1. Sounds like you already have a stick in mind, why are you asking?

The RBK 7K is supposed to be good (most used RBK stick in the pros), but if you don't have a tone of money just forget one piece sticks. They aren't worth it. Get a two piece stick instead- pretty much the same in terms of performance and if one part breaks you can replace it for much less then a new stick.

Also, they're by nature stronger. A one piece stick has much less material in the slash zone, the area just above the blade. They're true one piece these days, which means that wall is just as thin as the walls of the shaft. On a two piece, it's pretty much solid material there, which actually decreases performance a little, but not that much, but makes that area- were most one piece sticks break- strong as h**l.

I use an Easton SL shaft and blade- the super light. The current model is the Elite, which is a tad heavier but it's supposed to be stronger and better balanced. I would say to get that.

actually, here it is and on discount too, if you don't mind 70 or 85 flex.

Uses any tapered blade though. Non Easton voids the warranty.
