If you like beaches.. In Sydney- Manly is pretty cool or the Southerland Shire In Sydney. Yeah Brisbane is pretty nice in Queensland. If you like partying, Go to the Gold Coast in Queensland.

There is no "best" suburb in Sydney, or Australia. Each has its own merits depending on what sort of criteria you have in determining what's best for you.

If you are asking what is the most exclusive, then there are also many. Some are based inland in lush mountainous areas, such as the Southern Highlands areas of Mittagong and Bowral in New South Wales. Others are located by rivers, ocean or lakes in more densely populated areas, such as Bondi Beach or Vaucluse in Sydney, Lake Macquarie or Merewether in Newcastle, or Portside, Paddington and Southbank in Brisbane.

There's many other fabulous suburbs depending on whether you are wanting great family surroundings, great nightlife, the best cafes and restaurants.

The most upmarket exclusive suburbs are around the harbour eg Double Bay and Kirribilli, the beaches near the city eg Bondi and Manly, and in the 'leafy' North Shore eg Killara and Pymble.

Personally I would never live anywhere else then along the coast. The northern beaches (including Manly) and Sutherland Shire (incl Cronulla) would be my recommendations.

Outside of Sydney the Illawarra including Wollongong and Shellhrbour are beautiful places to live. Great for families, close to the beach. Close to Sydney yet far enough away at the same time.

NEWPORT!!! ummmmm I'm not biased lol. No but NEWPORT is in the northern beaches and I think the northern beaches is actually the best place to live as it has the best beach's it's near heaps of good shops and schools yet its still not to far away from the city or anything.
