Six flags, and cedar point are not theme parks, they are amusement parks.

The best "theme park" in the world, in my opinion, is Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando.

The park has 5 themed areas, which are: Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, the Lost Continent, and Seuss Landing. The level of detail both in the parks and in the attractions themselves is unmatched by even Disney parks. Each separate area has its own soundtrack, and each ride is relevant the the area it sits in (for example, Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, Incredible Hulk Coaster, and Dr. Doom's Fearfall are all located in Marvel Superhero Island).

It's a great park.
