Whats the best thing to put on scars to make them go away?

i have a scar about the size of a dime and not even make up will cover it. it is lighter than my skin but when i wash my face it turns red for a little then goes back to the normal color. does anyone know of any good ointments or if there are any procedures a dermatologist can do?

I've always used cocoa butter and vitamin e, and I have plenty of scars. My sister spent the money and bought Mederma, but it needs to be applied about 6 times a day. She said it's not working so far. I just buy the stuff for stretch marks, and it has cocoa butter. It allows your skin to heal faster. It will take time to work, but it always has for me. I have some deep scars from incidents, and those are still visible, but not as noticeable the way they were before. It doesn't have to be a name brand either, they all contain the same ingredients.
