Whats the best thing to use to get the smell of dog pee out of carpet and the couch?

SportWash bySnoKing   It's a laundry detergent sold in the sporting good section of WalMart.  It's used for hunters to take the human scent out of their clothing.

  Since you are using it on carpeting and a couch I would put the detergent in a bucket with water and sponge it down.  I've used it on the bedding where my cat peed and it was awesome but of course that all went in the laundry.

Nothing. Throw the couch out and remove the carpet and put a new one.

You can get products to get rid of the urine stain and smell.

Once you clean the carpet and couch, put some snuggle, downy, or other fabric softener in a spray bottle and spray them. I did this to a  place on my carpet and my dog has never gone on the carpet again.

I have a dog but she's never peed on anything in our house.  I would suggest you buy something from a pet store for that kind of thing, or clean the area as you normally would with a fabric cleaning product, let it dry really good, and then sprinkle baking soda on the soiled area.  Leave it in for a couple of hours and then vacuum it.  Baking soda eliminates odors and also works as a disinfectant.  If you sprinkle baking soda on your couch and then vacuum it off, it will smell fresher.  Same goes for bed mattress which are not protected by a special under sheet cover.

Wipe it down with soda water,vinegar,and  a little dawn dish soap. Let dry,then sprinkle some arm and hammer baking soda over it.Vacuum that up after a good hour. Our little dog had to have an operation and so she would dribble on the sofa ,but didn't know it. I used the plastic off of my clothes I had gotten back from the dry cleaners to put the cushions in until she healed. They were a perfect fit,and I changed them when needed. She is all healed now,and the problem is gone. You can buy some of those sheets from your dry cleaners if needed and are a perfect fit for sofa cushions. They helped us through a little/big problem.
