  1. First you have to attract the sharks to the dock, best done at night. You'll have to chum the area with a mixture of oily fishes (bluefish, menhaden oil, barracuda, mackerels, etc.) or you can just buy pre-made chum. If your dock is on the ocean, you'll get results fairly quickly. If it's in a canal near an inlet, you'll have to wait awhile or do repeat chumming sessions. If you're in a canal  far from an inlet...you'll be waiting for a long time but here's a trick, chum only on an outgoing tide. The scent will travel farther and attract your target species faster if they're in the area.

Once you have attracted sharks to your dock, use cut baits, the fish around the dock will do. Remember to use a long wire leader because the sharks can bite through monofilament really easy. If you are seeing fins, don't use a weight, simply toss out a chunk of bait and let it go with the flow. Hook size depends on the bait size. 5/0 will do for smaller sharks but you may need to go bigger if the sharks are large. Finally, be careful.Sharks are pretty mean and it can get bad in a heart beat. that's it until I think of more.~good luck catchin'.
