  1. Best general time is after midnight and before the dawn. Never before midnight.

  2. After 2am will be the best time to watch the Shower.

  3. Read this:

  4. Sundown is about 8:45.  It's dark by 9:45.  Start then.  I went out last night.  Saw 16 Perseid meteors and 9 non-Perseid meteors.  You can tell by seeing if they seem to come from the constellation Perseus, just below the sideways W - Cassiopeia.

The shower is supposed to get better after midnight.  But the midnight to 2 AM didn't seem to be better than the 10:30 to midnight.

Should be at least some Perseid meteors through the weekend.

This is the calendar site for the meteor showers for 2008 from the International Meteor Organization. Everything you ever wanted to know about meteor showers is on this site. Enjoy!

The peak was this morning but you can still see some over the next few evenings.

  6. After the moon sets.  Find a dark place to watch to the north and northeast.  I was in a city and was able to see a few dozen in four hours.
