  1. lift toilet up and extend tile to drain.. nippers (ask for them at the hardware store, they'll even show what to do) make sure you have area under tile to put toilet screws back in

  2. The toilet typically sits on top of the tile.

But, to make curved cuts in tile you need a grinder and composite blade.  Or if you mean the tile under where the toilet will sit (and cover) then just use snippers

  3. You need a ceramic saw.  It's an electric circular saw especially made for tile.  It squirts water on the cutting surface.  The tile needs to be cut before it's laid.

  4. There are a couple of options:

    1.  Use a tunsten-carbide tile saw.  It is like a small hacksaw but has a blade like a piece of wire that is coated in tungsten-carbine grains.  You can cut any irregular shape you want and get a good finish.  It takes time and your work-piece must be well supported.  It is an inexpensive tool.

    2.  Use a diamond/tunsten-carbide bladed tile-cutting circular saw or regular tile cutter (though as you point out, this is not ideal) to cut out rectangles/triangles to approximate to the required shape.  Continue shaping using a 'nipper' tool (I have used ordinary pincers) and then finish the shaping with a tungsten-carbide file specially made for shaping ceramic tiles.

My suggestion is not to worry about being TOO precise as you will probably be sealing between the tiles and the toilet with sanitary silicone.

  5. The tile nipper, cause the toilet will cover the jagged edges

  6. A 4" hand held grinder tool with a diamond blade. Score both sides of the tile then simply snap off the cutout..

  7. If it is self stick, do not pull the paper off the back till you get the right fit.You should be able to cut it with sharp scissors.

  8. take toilet up 1st then do it x

  9. tile nippers, or you can cut small triangles out...doesn't have to be perfect...the toilet should be taken off the floor anyways.

  10. A small sidegrinder fitted with a diamond blade, lightly cut round the main shape about 2 mil deep then cut about 6 slots from the outside in You will then be able to break the narrow strips of tile off and grind off any overspill.--Or remove the Toilet.

  11. Try a tile saw
