Whats the best truck?

I am looking to buy an older truck/suv that is reliable and capable, must be 4x4, i have been looking at the older jeep cherokee models,(97to2000) i heard they are great vehicle's, but i am also interested in pick-ups like a chevy,dodge,toyota etc something smaller single cab short box 4x4 what do you think is the best, most reliable vehicle? i would be using it mainly as a daily driver, but would like to go offroading also, where i live we get some pretty good snowfalls in the winter, my budget is between 5 and 7 thousand, your feedback would be great, Thanks

The jeeps and dodges are some of the worst vehicles out there.They have alot of transmission and rear-end problems and horrible gas mileage.As far as Toyota trucks go many will tell you they are great but what i have seen in my shop is the opposite.They do have many problems mainly electrical.Then on top of that there frames do not hold up.Have you heard of all the recalls they have had to do?My opinion is get a gmc or Chevy full size truck.They are a very tough truck.I have three customers that i can think of right off the bat that have over 200000 on theres with still the original drive-train.
