  1. i bought an aquarium tank and tank topper with pipes. it's the best cage, because it's easy to clean, and during winter you can fill the tank with wood, dry leaves, or shredded paper etc. so they can dig hole and feel warm. also with aquarium tank you don't need to worry that the hamsters might escape from the cage.

you can buy the aquarium and tank topper in any pet shop, very easy to find.

  2. Rotastak cages are great. They look great, and come with wheels and tubes for your hamster to play in. We just got one from ebay for £19.99 and it is fab! They cost alot more in the shops though! You can add to your cages and add rooms and wheels and tubes.

  3. Well, I have the CritterTrail TWO with the expansion kits for my syrian hamster and it is big enough for him! Here are the links: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... (This is the cage), and http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... (This is the expansion kits)!

Another option would be to make a bin cage. But the CritterTrail TWO comes with a wheel, food dish, and a water bottle. But you have to buy those things with the bin. I hope this helps!

  4. A correct size cage for a syrian hamster would be Habitrail Playground or Crittertrail 2 or 3. I personally have a Habitrail Playground and have had no complaints against it so far. As for Crittertrails, they are popular but some owners complain that they are tall and cause the hamster to fall down if your hamster is a hyperactive one who loves to climb cage bars.

You can check them out at the following links -

Another idea would be to make a bin cage and attach to the current one. You can go on adding a variety of bins to the current cage to make it more interesting for your hamster. It is easy to make and inexpensive and you would not feel the pinch if anytime you get bored with one set up and want to make a different style or arrangement. Also your current cage would not go to waster. On a tutorial for making bin cages at home, click on the following link -

  5. Maybe a bin cage? It's cheap and they have room to move and room for toys and stuff. If you want a cage from the store, a nice sturdy wired cage or Crittertrail 3 for room and the tubes are pretty good.

  6. you can get a wire cage at any pet store. make sure it has at least two levels and a solid bottom. most of them come with wheels. wire cages offer good ventilation and climbing cover the wires on the floor with something though so your hamsters leg doesnt get caught in it

  7. Critter Trail 3. I own it and its ten times better. I have three hamsters in it and they run and get around very nice.

  8. Hamster CAGE 101:

☼ The base should be deep. Hamsters love to bury things (including themselves) and feel safe.

☼ AMUSEMENT! You need to keep him happy. The cage should have room so it can run around.

Add some chewing wood and a wheel. Hamsters love to bite.

If they can't chew a toy, they will gnaw on cage plastic.

☼ A Second level. Hamsters are are curious and nosy creatures. They love tight spaces and such, but also running. Try to get a cage that possibly has multiple levels or tubing.
