Whats the best type of oil and brand for this car?

i gotta 1994 chevy cheyeene 1500 v6 4.3l vortc engine has 180mi on it i no i should change this every 3k klits but what type should i use 30w 20 or 5w 20? and wats better castrol mobile 1 and I DO NOT CARE ABOUT PRICE athnk you

I had a 4.3 tbi in a 1985 impalla.  I changed oil every 3000 mi and used Castrol GTX 5w30.  I sold the car to my sister when it had 400,000 miles and she and her son drove it till it had 500,000 miles on it.  The car was scrapped because of a transmission failure.  The engine never used oil or smoked and I drove it hard.  During this time I never had to crack open the engine.  I think any good (not cheap) oil will do pretty much the same, but the trick is to keep clean oil in the engine.  all engines have some blow by which allows carbon, acids, and moisture into the block.  eventually this fills the oil with containation and thickens the oil.  a 15,000 mile oil might be good to 15,000 miles but it's full contanimation at 3,000 miles, (things that will pass right thru the filter, liquids and fine powders) and form sludge and corrosion.

5 - 30w for normal oil, but I use synthetic Mobil One. I run all synthetic oils in my race car. It has also been proven that synthetic oils will produce more power at the dyno.
