  1. gun jitsu

  2. I am going to be taking martial arts class with my former instructors. And I feel that martial arts may be good. But you would have to practice a lot to pass each belt test. But its up to you.

I would be a 1st degree black belt in American Taekwondo and a 1st degree in Hwa Rang Taekwondo.

  3. Well I was going to say a tactical shooting course, but I don't guess you can carry a gun at college.

Eskrima is the Israeli thing you were reffering to.

But taking a self defense class for a few months isn't going to help you much in defense against the average man.

    Maybe a taser.

  4. Taking Krav Maga is the best thing you could do for yourself.  It's designed to be learned quickly and easy for you to remember in case you need it.  www.kravmaga.com has an section listing all Krav Maga certified schools in the US.  This style is definitely worth looking into and absolutely worth the money you'll pay.  Good luck!

  5. taekwondo defently cas its a kicking MA and woman have great legs to do all the kicks also you learn alot of good self defence techniques for when you are attacked on the street and you also learn some grapples and other things.

  6. Krav Maga and Haganah are two different Israeli Martial Arts that are quite effective.

You might also want to look into Kenpo (or Kempo) Karate. It is a street defense art that is very harmful to unsuspecting attackers.

  7. Formal training is good but takes a while.  Just remember Eyes, Groin,& throat are all easy targets and very effective.

Leave the pepper for the steaks.

  8. Escrima isn't Israeli, it's Filipino (same for Kali and Arnis --the name depends on where in the Philipines it's from)

Krav Maga is the Isreali stuff-- and yeah it's good....if you can find a place that doesn't teach a watered-down version.

A self-defense course that focuses on simulating real attacks, and dealing with the "fight or flight" response would be a good start--but only a start.
