Whats the best used car to buy?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a used car for me, my girlfriend, and our daughter. The only question is what model should I buy? I'm looking to buy something within the years of 2004-2005 that of course gets good gas mileage, so that rules out some SUV's. I'm 6 ft 1 myself so I can't exactly fit into a Dodge Neon or a Chevy Cavalier either. So out of all the models (mid-sized sedans, large sedans, or mini-vans), which should get me a solid built car with good gas mileage??

  1. .

There are a lot of cars to consider but 6'1" has it narrowed down a little.

You seemed to like the SUV, decent gas mileage and of course dependability and with a daughter I would assume safety.

Conserding all of it combined I would take a look at a KIA sportage if I were you. Lots of leg room for your size, decent gas mileage, is a SUV and even the 4WD gets great mileage. It is also 5 star safety rated. They are priced reasonable enough that you may even find you can get into a NEW one.

It's worth a look anyway, along with a Honda or Toyota. They are dependable also but a litle higher priced and not quite as safe

  2. -Great gas mileage.

    -Good acceleration.

    -Spacious.

    -Reliability.

    -Comfort.

    -High resale value.

    -Wide range of features.

If you like the above description, I would highly recommend a Nissan Altima 2.5 S/SL.

  3. Buick Park Avenue or Le Sabre

    Pontiac Bonneville

    Chevy Impala

  4. The Altima's 2.5 liter engine isn't very reliable (or at least wasn't before 2006) because of some loose butterfly valve screws in the intake, a pre-cat that goes bad and gets sucked up in the engine  and other problems

The Honda Element also isn't that great. You are asking for good gas mileage and I know for sure that my 1994 Nissan Maxima gets better than 21-23mpg even though it is a big car (you can fit 4 6' tall people in it comfortably) with an inefficient but powerful for it's time cast iron V6

I don't know if a Toyota Corolla would be big enough but they currently are one of the better efficiency wise sedans. An Altima or Maxima with a 3.5 liter engine would be big enough though the gas mileage would be low 20s on average with them.

  5. Price range

  6. 2003+ 4-cylinder Honda Accord - I have one with more than 100,000 miles - still going strong with no problems and it's very cheap on gas.

Parts are fairly inexpensive and there is no timing belt to worry about.

    All experts recommend it:

  7. Anything japanese

  8. Honda's are nice and roomy my bf bought a Mercedes benz yesterday it isn't bran new but it is roomy. it gets 28 mpg

  9. look for a 2004/2005 Pontiac vibe.

The vibe is a hatchback, so its taller than a sedan, but smaller than an SUV. It's great on gas, and it's the exact twin of the Toyota Matrix, so reliability is great on it. It has enough room in the back to seat three comfortable, or a babysit and another passenger comfortably

If you don't like hatchbacks, i find that midsized family sedans seem to have a bit more headroom than the sub compacts. The ever popular Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima are all great choices when it comes to reliability, safety, and MPG.

If your willing to go with a korean company, the 2006 Hyundai Sonota has great styling, good reliability ratings, and great MPG for the price.

  10. Hondas and Toyotas hold value the best and need the least  amount of repairs!!

  11. Try looking for Honda's.

they have GREAT RESALE value, and they last for ever.

if u buy a used honda, expect it to last until you reach  199,000 miles.

    very dependable.

Look for a Honda Element, it's a great car considering you have a daughter and you're tall.

the element is a SUV, but a small one, it's based on a sedan, so you'll get great gas mileage, about 21-23 on average.

i think it would be a perfect car for you, research it!!!
