To study for my history test.

I know what the test questions are but they're 4 essay questions that all have to be written in essay format.

I take the test tomorrow...And Im not sure how to study for it..

I have pages of notes..

I just think Im going to run out of things to say...because Im not a very good memorizer....

Any ideas on how to memorize the notes?

  1. make the notes interesting...re write them in bold colors, or just say them over and over again

  2. Type your notes and bullet the main events.

Let's say for essay 1 there are 10 main events. Like if the question was what events led to the American Revolution.

    Proclamation Line

    Sugar Act

    Stamp Act

    Declaratory Act

    Townshend Duties

    Boston Massacre

    Tea Act

    Boston Tea Party

    Coercive Act

    Intorable Acts

Then I take the first letters and come up with a way to remember. For this I would use SPIT BBC STD

Once you can memorize just the 1st letter and what event goes with it, then I would go ahead and write out the essay, using the 10 events in sentences, just so you can practice how your words should flow and how to go from one event to the next.

  3. If you already know the test questions, you are set! You just need to prepare your answers for every question in advance. I realize that this seems like a lot of work, but think of it this way- you do all the work for your test in advance and then tomorrow all you have to do is rewrite it! Do you know how to do an outline? Determine your main points for each essay, write those down. Then review your notes and write the supporting evidence and examples below each main point. As long as you know your main points and your supporting comments, you don't have to memorize everything, just remember what you know you need to say.

    Good luck!

  4. For memorization, try to rewrite your notes.  Also make some outlines of specific topics, and then study those individually.  This will make the content less overwhelming.  Focus on certain things and drill them into your brain.  You will be suprised at how much you remember
