Whats the best way of starting a race team ?

im currently in a technical school (UTI) to be an auto technician i am establishing a racing team for the school with the help of my instuctors and peers its been approved by the school level now its in the process of going to the corperate level just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas

After running a ( granted small ) team for an endurance championship, I can only say, that if you need to ask this question, you have not even bothered to think about.

You can write a book, 1000 pages thick , on just this question.

Im guessing, but your heart is not in it.

if i were going to start a race team i would be the racer and the mechanic its so expensive to own a race team so if you are the rider and the mechanic then maybe you will get enough sponsers to pay for the rest if its a school project having a good mechanic is no problem i would see if there is anyone in your school who can ride and has the balls to race haha the school could offer some kinda scholarship to pay him

try to attract sponsors. Owning a race team is extremly expensive....

you will have to pay for the salaries of the riders, mechanics, truck driver, all the support staff....etc...

then you will have to pay for food, gas, parts, bikes, etc.....

You need to contact any local business' to see if they will come on board with sponsorship.  Take whatever sponsorship you can get.  Contact local gas stations to see if they will provide the petrol for racing and local bike shops to perhaps provide gear as any help is better than none.  It is very expensive so you need to enlist the help of anyone with knowledge who can provide this free of charge.  The only way to get this help is to keep contacting people and asking.
