    this is the schedule of the bus that connects pontedera to volterra. fs means that it's not operated during holiday days ( like saturday and sunday ). yuo can get to pontedera by bus or train from pisa. I suggest you the train.

    as for volterra, I cheked for you and you can get there by bus only. trains operate from cecina only, which is south of pisa, near livorno, on the coast.

From Volterra you can reach Pisa by bus, there are buses that take you up to Pontedera, here you have to take a second bus to Pisa or a train to Pisa. from Volterra to Pontedera 40 minutes by bus, from Pontedera to Pisa 30 minutes by bus and only 15 by train.
