I have tried this a few times, and I can get all the way to the point where the thought, light patterns and all of that go away and you feel the vibrations and pulsation throughout your body. I just cant seem to get out of my body. I heard that you can picture yourself floating up and out of your body and things but so far I have not been able to get it to work. I have gotten really close though, any ideas how to get out after im at the point of meditiation where I can leave my body?

  1. "Picturing" is a slightly misleading term, it's more a matter of feeling yourself drift - imagining what your visuals along the path would be can work, but it's quite a mental challenge for most people.

Keeping relaxed helps a lot - let go over and over.  Trying to smooth out and increase the frequency of the vibrations is useful too.  Also there's a lot of different exit trajectories you can try...  Sinking through the bed and the floor is nice, and Robert Bruce's climbing technique ("Rope") is a good one.  Last time I got out (last night!) I just shook myself loose by mentally ringing myself like a bell, shaking my second arms like crazy.  Coiling up energy and catapulting it out of your head is an exciting one to try.  Rotating like a log in bed is a beginner-friendly technique - the visual sensation of turning your head is very familiar so can be easier to tune in to.  Rising like you're a seesaw someone jumped on one end of also works, or pivot up rigidly from your feet.  Stretching your arms to the top of a door or beam and pulling your body forward with them can work.  Or simply imagine a place - sometimes you can just teleport.  Some people ask for a guide to pull them out...

Just keep trying as many techniques as you can think of basically!  Sometimes you can even fall out without noticing during the act of trying to remember them all...
