Whats the best way to advertise on my website?

my website is about sexual health and i want to advertise on it.

my previous websites i never advertised on so im new to this.

i dont have much interest in google adsense, the text ads would not look very good on my site. i would like to advertise with the more graphic banner style type ads (the ones on the side and up the top)

how can i do this?

(sorry i sound like an idiot but im new to ads)

Test test and test. There may not be a best way. Links to other sites that will do the same for your site is a good way to connect with others and will boost your ranking on search engines, and cheap.

you can start by placing "dummy ads" like "this spot can be yours" in a banner and place them all down the right side of your page or wherever you want the ads to go then find sites that have the same commonality as you and get all there emails and send a message saying that you have some spots that opened up if you're interested please contact. Have a spot on your site that has different advertising rates and also contact companies that you know would like to be on there like lifestyles or whoever that has a name and wants there name everywhere!
