Whats the best way to apply eyeliner to your top eyelid?

I've tired mulitple times for my stage makeup class, but it always looks imcomplete because you can see skin that isn't covered where the lashes are, so the line always looks slightly off. Am I supposed to draw on top of the lashes?

i would try using gel eyeliner and an eyeliner brush

a pencil never works

and get as close to the lashes as possible

Also try applying the liner before you add the shadow that way when you apply your eye shadow you can "correct" and crooked lines by covering it with the shadow.

lol when i do my eyeliner i always look as far up as i can and just apply the eyeliner like u would on the inside of the bottom i fully rim the inside of my eyelids with the eyeliner. it also helps to make ur eye lashes look fuller. then i go over the outside of the top lid with liquid liner right above the lash line. good luck!
