I bought a used table and they are all gunked up and most don't slide very well. All the rods are straight.

  1. did someone say LUBE??!!

  2. Don't forget to protect the playing surface when you are using silicone/WD40.  Here's a helpful link on table maintenance;

  3. Clean the table w/ Isopropyl alcohol because it doesn't leave residue.  Wipe down the rods and bearings with a clean towel, then lubricate the rods with silicon.

    It seems to work on most tables.

    You can get silicon here.

  4. It depends somewhat on the type of table.

    If there are rubber parts on the rod (such as rubber bumpers on Tornado tables) then silicone oil is the thing to use.

    If there's no rubber, WD40 is fine. (the solvent in WD40 rots rubber!!).
