Whats the best way to clean chrystal glasses?

use warm water (leaning toward hot) and white vinegar.  Use a soft cloth or a sponge without the scrubby side on it.  Rinse in warm/hot water and let air dry.  

Crystal is softer than glass and scratches very easily.  If your crystal is developing a cloudy appearance it is getting scratched.  Some people put "sturdier" crystal glasses like double old fashioned glasses in the dishwasher  only to discover the cloudiness appears over time.

If they are ones that you are particular about (old/valuable/sentimental) then yes dont put them in the dishwasher. To hand wash them properly half fill your sink (or washing up bowl) with hand hot water with washing up liquid in it. Put a folded teatowel into the bottom of the sink (or bowl) to protect the glasses from bumps. Turn on your hot tap so it is slowly running, gently wash each glass individually gently wiping the rim of the glass with a soft cotton dishcloth then fill the glass with the hot water running from the tap, then stand the glass upright still full of water on the draining board whilst you wash the rest of the glasses. Now take a clean fluff free cotton teatowel  and take the first glass that you washed tip out the hot water and immediately dry polishing to a shine. Do the rest in order.

By standing the glass full of hot water the glass will heat up so when you dry it, it will shine.Also you are only emptying water once you are ready to dry so you dont get water marks.

Don't be tempted to use hot water from the kettle as too hot water can crack crystal.

I fill a sink with ammonia and warm water. Dip them in, swish them with a sponge, rinse and let dry. If you really care about them don't put them in the dishwasher.
