Whats the best way to connect my lap top to my hdtv?

Laptop ports:

-S-Video port

-VGA port

HDTV ports:

-S-video port

-VGA

-HDMI

It seems like the simple solution would be to buy a VGA cable and connect them together but this would only give me an analog connection. I would prefer a digital one. Is there anything i can do for under $100 to go digital?

That's the ONLY connection that will WORK for you....digitizing an analog signal doesn't IMPROVE the signal at all....

So use the VGA to VGA connector and save that HDMI connector for your Cable box connection....

You'll be watching MORE TV than computer, that's for sure .
