  1. its what you find the best way.....for me its just to hit it at pace and low then just dig in and push....if ya cant get it to stop just collapse it....aint legal but it works

  2. As everything, with good technique. 3 or 4 forwards pushing at a low possition and if possible pulling up one oponent leg, other 3 forwards standing up as a triangle behind the maul to avoid turnings, the one on the side wich turns to goes violently in together with the one in the middle and push them back....

  3. good technique and organisation...

you MUST practice this at training as well or your side will have no hope of stopping a well-drilled maul...

Key is also having someone on-hand (scrum-half) directing the forwards as to where to hit the maul...  otherwise you end up with guys hitting it wherever and not concentrating efforts...

A good tactic is to try and hit it low and hard so that it does fall down of its own accord...

Most refs are aware of what you will be trying to do... and lifitng guys legs up or trying to pull it down on the sligh will not work with any decent ref...

99% of the advantage is with the attacking side in a maul situation as this is why they are so effective with a well-drilled pack...

To stop them.. practice, get organised, and as always.... hit low and HARD!

    Cheers!
