  1. pencil's are not a good idea, they make the eyebrow loook harsh instead of soft. shadows are definitely the way to go, i'd recommend wetting an angled brush then dipping it into the correct color and filling it in. ends up looking more natural than a pencil (:

  2. try an eyebrow pencil thats your hair color

and fill it in [almost like a pencil] . its so simple and easier than mascara & shadows . Also go very lightlyy !! you can always go back and make it darker ..

    goodluck

  3. I used to use pencil on my brows, but I've been using brow powder for awhile and it works just as good. I use MAC's brow powder duo. It's comes with the brow powder (mine is a dark brown, because of my hair.. which is naturally black, but highlighted) and it comes with a brow highlighter, which you apply beneath your eyebrows (not necessary, but if you want to do it, it's pretty.)

Go to any makeup counter, or even drug store, and look for eyeshadow( YES, this is what makeup artists use if they don't have brow powder!!) that is about a medium to dark brown. I say this because these shades fit well with any person of any hair color. If you find brow powder in the shades, then great! But it's not necessary, eyeshadow will do the job! **Since you have jet black dyed hair, I would go for a dark brown shade of powder/eyeshadow, because anything black on your brows will be too harsh on your look. On ANYONE.

Then get yourself a skinny angled brush. I use one from MAC, but you can find a skinny brush with angled bristles anywhere. Angled brushes just work so well, and the skinnier they are, the easier it is to work with.

Take your brush and add some eyeshadow/brow powder to your angled brush. I tend to add the color onto the whole bottom, instead of just the tip, and brush it along your eyebrows. You might have to go over once more just so you can get a consistency of color in there. Then use the angled brush's very tip to do the outer parts of your eyebrows (since you really don't want such a thickness there).

If you feel the need to use pencil with the brow powder/eyeshadow, because its not "enough" for you, I would suggest using a pencil that is close in color to the brow powder, and use it to just add a fine line beneath your eyebrow hairs to get a distinct shape. Just there, or else you'll really have "stand out" brows with the brow powder/eyeshadow already there.

Good luck! Makeup is suppose to be fun, so just play around with the eyeshadow/brow powder til you feel comfortable with it. Its a really nice alternative to the pencil!

  4. You should definately use eyeliner thats the color of your hair so it doesnt look weird.
