  1. I have done it by train, much easier. Although always watch out for your bags

  2. I almost always do this by train. If there are several people going, the car becomews more economical. It's much more convenient than driving and having to find parking, negotiating city traffic, etc. There are also day tours out of Rome that you could take.

  3. you definitely don't want to be driving in Rome or Naples (unless you are from NYC or something). I'm italian and went to Naples last year...they honk at you even if you stop at a red light! Save yourself the trouble and take the train...but remember to stamp it before you board or you will pay a fine!!

  4. as a summer trip, it is preferring to travel by a good car

  5. by car!! im italina and i advise of travell rome and naples witth car!!! ;-)

  6. Driving in Rome is not the best, nor is parking in Naples. Train travel is easy in Rome as is going by train from Rome to Naples and Pompeii. I have not caught the train further but the Amalfi Coast south to Capri etc is spectacular by car. Don't miss it.

  7. By Train is absolutly the best. You cold find the new High Speed train from Rome to Naples at 25,00 $ Rome have an eccelent Underground net. Naples is well linked by train with SORRENTO, POMPEII ERCOLANEUM. This train is called "CIRCUMVESUVIANA"  1,10 € is the price for the Ticket Naples- Pompeii by Circumvesuviana, and around 3,00 € from Naples to Sorrento.

In front of Central Station, near hotel TERMINUS is the bus stop fro the Busses from Naples to Amalfi coast.
